Mpox Disease readiness and consequences




At the begin of this first Term ,the ministry of Education and Sports directed all learning institutions to follow Standard Operating procedures SOPs as it was during covid 19. as the way of avoiding the Mpox disease to increase  .

Mr.Muteesa Shalif .H/M Destiny Junior school -Mukono . In the interview with our reporter .he says that as the school they have prepared themselves and ready to tackle any situation " We have put hand washing points all over the school , because we don't want the situation to become worse .as it was during covid. " 

He added encouraging parents to return back their children to school because other pupils have already started learning. 

Nabagesera Mariam a residence of  Namataba -Mukono also a  single mother of three children .while talking to Luweero Online Radio. she shows her anxiety and fear over the increase of Mpox  in Uganda ." I have delayed to return my children to school because I still fear my children get Mpox disease, because when I remember what happened to their dady I just feel tears coming out of me...secondly I don't have school feels plus scholastic materials.


In the last report of Mpox disease which the ministry of health release on 12th January showed that Mpox disease is increasing daily mostly in tight areas like Kampala, wakiso , Mukono and Mbarara . With the total over 1830 cases , 10 deaths and 1289 patients  

The ministry says that sex workers have done a big job of increasing Mpox.
