What is done after pope dies .
Follow it in order .
1) Verification of his death .this is done by camerlengo ,the chamberlain of the Roman Catholic church ,is the response for official confirming Pope's death .this was done today by chamberlain cardinal Kevin Joseph today morning.
2) Destruction of the fisherman's ring .the Pope's ring symbolize his authority ,and is ceremonially destroyed by the chamberlain in the presence of other cardinals. This act prevents it's mis-use and signifies the end of the deceased Pope's authority.
3) Thirdly .there is automatic suspension of papal authority. And all heads of Vatican department s ceases their functions.expect those from issential service.
4) public announcement and mourning is made .The Dean of cardinals formally announces the Pope's death .Then the time of mourning is declared ,it's usually a nine-day period
5) Then follows the funeral arrangements.The pope's funeral typically occurs between the fourth and sixth day after his death but this service is usually held in st. Peters square led by the Dean of cardinals but pope Francis changed this practice.
6) The burial site of most pope is in Vatican in Grottoes in beneath .st Peter Basilica. In over 100years many popes have been buried there .but pope is allowed to choose a different place .this time pope Francis chose st. Mary's major Basilica .one of the fourth Basilica in Vatican
7) Then there will be preparation of conclave . It means The official meeting of all Cardinals in world whose who are below the age of 80 , convenes to Elect a new pope.This takes place in 15-20 days after pope's death. And they secretly vote four times on that day.
Now chamberlain is the overseer of all activities in Roman Catholic church till the new pope is elected . Cardinal Kevin Joseph is now the acting pope ...
