Corruption In The Parliament Increases by 4%


 Uganda'sParliament has a total number of 529 MPs . The allegations says that Parliament is one of the corrupt institution in Uganda ..
According to the report released by Afro-barometer in the year 2024, shows that corruption in the Parliament has increased from 43% to 47% in the year 2023-2024. 

Last week ,according to the trusted sources shows that member of the Parliament were given 100M from the government for thanking them passing coffee amendment bill , and preparing them to pass the amendment in UPDF Act to allow civilians go into court Martial.

In 2023 ,it allegedly that each MP was given 100M to pass Uganda budget of 5Trillion and 200Billion .
In 2022 in this 11th , reports shows that  each MP was given 40M to pass the supplementary budget of shs 77Bn for the state house .

In 2017 , during ,"Togikwatako" MPs were given 29Million to amend section 102b in the Ugandan constitution.but some MPs returned this money even if the majority passed the amendment . but during that Parliament became a fighting ground which tarnished its image .

The reports shows that the MPs also received 700M during the time of debating about Ugandan oil .

In 2011 ,while clocking into general election it's allegedly that MPs were given 20M just to support government's programs to fight poverty  

This corruption and bribery in the Parliament majorly were launched in 7th Parliament in 2005 , when MPs given 5Million to support to the constitution amendments of removing Term Limit ..
