Pope Leo XIV was born on September 14th 1955 in Chicago,he spent his childhood with parents.
Pope Leo XIV in the year 1977 earned a degree in mathematics in Villanova university in Pennsylvania.
On 2 Sept. 1978 made his first proffesion where he made solemn vows in st Louis Chicago.
At 27years of age ,he received his theological education at Catholic theological union in chicago .Then after was sent to study Canon law at pontifical university.
0n 19th June 1989, was ordained a priest at Augustinian college of Monica by Archbishop Jean Jadot..He obtained his licentiate in 1984.
In 1988-1992 ,he served in Peru as prior of the community. In 1989-1998 ,he served as Judicial Vicar in the Archdiocese of Trujillo.
In 1999, he was elected provincial prior of the Augustinian province of "mother of Good community in Chicago. He then elected as a prior general in 2007.
In October 2023,appointed and served as Director of information at St. Augustine convent.
On 3th November 2014 , pope Francis appointed him as apostolic Administrator of Peruvian Diocese of Chiclayo. On 12th December,the same year was ordained a Bishop in The feast of our lady of Guadalupe in cathedral of st. Mary
On September 26 ,2015 , was appointed Bishop of Chiclayo by pope Francis.In 2o18 elected as a second vice president of the Peruvian Episcopal conference
On 13 July 2019 ,pope Francis appointed him a member of the congregation for clergy .then In 2020 appointed a member of Bishops .
On April 15 2020 ,also appont apostolic Administrator for the Peruvian Diocese of Callao .
On 30th January 2023 , pope Francis called him to Rome as the prefect of he Dicastery for Bishops and president of pontifical commission for Latin America.
2024 . pope Francis created him a cardinal in the consistory of September 30 and then asigned him the Diaconate of st . Monica.
On 04/Oct/ 2023 . pope Francis appointed him as a member of Dicasteries for Evangelization
On 6th February 2025 . pope Francis promotd him to order of Bishops and granted him a title of the suburbicarian church of Albana .
Finally on 8. May 2025 Cardinal Francis Robert provest . elected as 267th a new pope.
