While addressing the media at Nakaseke District Electoral commission After nominations, Hon Nakawooya Esther ( NUP) contesting for the position of District Woman Member of Parliament, Nakaseke district, Hon . Nakawooya decried the high rate of school dropouts especially among girls "According to the reports , 60% of young people drop out from school before completing primary school ,this is due to increased poverty in their families , early pregnancy and long distances to schools and among others " She promised to fight for better learning facilities
Water scarcity also dominated the discussion , Hon Nakawooya says that in several villages residents still share water sources with animals putting their health at a serious risk , " i have tried to drill 15 boreholes through Esther Nakawooya foundation to provide safer water system to end long struggle for clean water ." She says .
In conclusion ,she promised to empower women and youth in support income generating activities .
