FATAL ROAD CRASH IN LUWERO DISTRICT.
The Territorial Police in Luwero District are investigating a fatal road accident that claimed three lives and injured eight others on March 20, 2026, at approximately 2330 hours in Nkonde Village, Nyimbwa Sub-County, Luwero District along the Kampala-Gulu Highway.
It involved Motor Vehicles registration number UBR 333S – White Toyota Hiace and UBG 873K White Taata lorry both driven by an unidentified drivers.
Injured victims were Eight males, all passengers in the Toyota Hiace (UBR 333S), traveling from Kampala to Amolatar District.
The Deceased were Three unidentified males, and also passengers in the Toyota Hiace (UBR 333S), who died on the spot.
It is alleged that the Taata lorry (UBG 873K), loaded with poles and traveling from Luwero heading to Kampala, attempted to overtake a long queue of vehicles at Nkonde in Kalule, Nyimbwa Sub-County luwero district, The maneuver resulted in a head-on collision with the oncoming Toyota Hiace (UBR 333S) carrying passengers from Kampala to Amolatar.
Police responded visited and documented the scene, Injured victims were rushed to Mulago Hospital and Kasana Luwero Hospital for treatment and the three deceased bodies were conveyed to Luwero Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
