On 14th May 2026 .The holy pope Leo XIv has appointed His Excellency Most Rev.Tomasz Grysa Fitular as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda..
The Nuncio is an Archbishop with the Rank of an Ambassador .
Archbishop Tomasz is to perform diplomatic duties such as representing the Pope to the State ,he maintains a strong ties between the Vatican and Uganda Government .He will be representing the Pope to the state functions ..
The Apostolic Nuncio also performs pastoral and Ecclesiastical duties .He is a primary link between the Pope and local catholic church in Uganda i.e Ugandn Bishops,Clergy and Laity.
He assists in the process of selecting and nominating new Bishops within Uganda.. Also facilitates and take part in major catholic church events like Namugongo Martyrs' Day .
Tomasz is replacing Archbishop Luigi Bianca who finalized his duties in Uganda in June 2025 . Archbishop Tomasz has been Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Seychelles and Republic of Mauritius and Delegate to comoros .
He was Born in 1970 in Poland ..Has a doctorate in Canon Law ..Tomasz served in different pontifical representations like Russian Federations, India ,Brazil , mexico etc
He speaks Italian,French, English, Spanish, Portuguese.
