We in the FDC strongly condemns the brutal actions of joint security forces , comprising uganda police, military police, IOS, SFC and JATT operatives , during nominations and voting process for the kawempe north by-election .these repeated actions undermine the very democracy that the NRA went to the bush to fight for.
Patrick Amuriat .The FDC went into this particular election not prepared to go to war with the establishment but expecting a departure from the past spate of violence and vote rigging experienced in the previous by-elections. This kind of violence coming at the start of the next elections cycle presents a grim picture to our democracy and is a great worry for a free , fair and credible 2026 General election.
We call upon the Autholities to institute measures that will be needed to avoid a repeat of the mass that played out during the kawempe North by-election..
