Kabaka Mutebi Ronald defies downpour to launch 70th birthday run , thousands brave rain for histolic celebration
Kabaka Ronald muwenda Mutebi 11flaged off the annual Kabaka birthday run on 6th April 2025, amidst heavy rains that failed to dampen the spirits of thousands fathered at lubiri palace .The event ,part of the Monarch's 70th birthday celebrations ,drew participants from across Uganda,all united on honoring the beloved king and supporting a critical cause : men's role in protecting the girl child from HIV . Despite persistent downpour,the Kabaka arrived in the royal regalia to thunderous cheers , officially launching the run featuring 5km ,10km and 21km categories.This year's theme focused on men's responsibility in safeguarding girls from HIV.
It's now 12years since this Kabaka birthday run started. Preliminary reports shows that over 120,000 people participated in the run national wide .
The Question is why can't the Government make it any official day???
Why can't this day become a national Kabaka birthday run??
Why don't all prominent figures copy such a lovely heartly act ,and also create such a day while collecting money to fight something .ie it can be a Marriage Run .
A birthday run
A heroes day run etc .
