ON MALICIOUS DAMAGE OF EUCALYPTUS TREES IN KAMIRA WARD, LUWEERO DISTRICT.
The Territorial Police in Luwero District is investigating an incident of malicious damage to eucalyptus trees that occurred on 21 June 2026 in Kamira Ward, Kamira Town Council.
Preliminary information indicates that on 21 June 2026, unknown time, a group of people allegedly led by one Kigaba Erasmus cut approximately half an acre of eucalyptus trees belonging to Mr. Katende Isa of Namuningi Village, Kamira Town Council. It is reported that the incident may be connected to an ongoing land dispute between Kigaba Erasmus and the complainant, Mr. Katende Isa.
Police were notified and responded promptly. A case of malicious damage has been registered and statements have been obtained from relevant witnesses. ASP Savannah region Afande Twinemazima Sam says ,the scene was visited and documented. No arrests have been made at this time.
Efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects and to bring them before the courts are ongoing.
