Cyber security And Digital Skilling Concern

 The opposition has called for increased investment in uganda's cyber security following a 93.5% increase in cases of cybercrimes in the year 2024 , which led yo the loss of shs 72 bn , out of which only 420M was recovered. 

The concern was raised by Hon. Helen Nakimuli  , shadow minister of ICT , in her alternative ministerial, in which she also has raised concerns over the low digital skills amongst Ugandans citing the available data indicating only about 20% were digitally skilled by 2021 and as of 2023 over 1.5 million Ugandans had received some form of digital training.
